Dogs and Chocolate
Chocolate is one of the most common poisonings we see in dogs. Chocolate causes vomiting and diarrhea within 2-4 hours. Eventually seizures and heart failure can follow within 12 to 36 hours. If your pet has consumed any chocolate, immediately contact a veterinarian and be sure to tell the receptionist that it is an EMERGENCY. If your veterinarian is not immediately available you must contact an emergency veterinarian hospital right away. Don't let this happen to you. Always keep all human food out of the reach of your pets. Be careful especially around the holiday seasons and pass this information along to other pet owners.
